In Facebook We Distrust

As part of my new mentors training program he has encouraged me to create an affiliate blog with some review posts, the reason for this is that affiliate marketing is the fastest way to generate an income online. It is however not the golden egg, as this type of marketing will prevent you from taking your marketing to the highest levels.
To really develop a long term and sustainable online income you need create and market your own products but that is for his next series of lessons, although I already have several un-marketed products out in the ether.
The affiliate program of choice was Commission Commando.
The review took several very intensive days to complete as I will not write horoscope type reviews, no vague entries about how good the system created by the dark haired handsome man was. Thus I needed to go through the training and it was pretty comprehensive.

Well this has been an interesting journey and if you have been one of my unfortunate Twitter followers then I must apologise for my lack of forethought.
Creating a new idea and seeing it to fruition is so much easier when you do it on your own, after all if it gets too hard you can just put it to one side and leave it for a while.
This is what I had done with my pet project for over a year but now it was time to take another look and set this monster free.
If you are planning to create a product big or small you must acknowledge both your skills and weaknesses.
I enjoy creating systems, mutli-media presentations and basic html coding solutions, my pet project however required some advanced coding, time to outsource.
When you outsource it is important to be clear about what you want and ensure the freelancer understands and provides you with a quote that includes a deadline and ideally a fixed fee.
With both of these criteria met it was time to release my pet project and see how it developed in the hands of a professional coder.
Randy Smith & Mandy Allens Workshop

I thought you would like to see a short video about this.

Mobile Blog Updates

Mobiles and wordpress how easy is it to create posts?
Okay so adding photos is simple, although I don’t know where the photo is going to be placed. This will obviously apply to videos as well.
Typing on the phone is not the most easiest option, although the Samsung galaxy has a system called Swype which allows you to swipe between letters to create words. This uses predictive text which adds its own frustrations into the mix.
Creating hyperlinks is simple, all you need to do is select the text, press link then enter the desired url
Text formatting is relatively simple but ultimately the process of creating posts on your mobile is a slow process if you are relying on text.
So what should you use mobile posts for?
I would recommend you use them for multimedia news updates from seminars or events, this allows you to minimise the amount of text used whilst providing great but easy and quick content.

In the book written by Claude C Hopkins, “Scientific Advertising” he disparaged the use of humour in advertising. In his opinion making money was a serious business and that the marketing should reflect this, gimmicky campaigns by their very nature were short lived and thus offered little in return for the advertising client.
However today we all know that raising a smile can break a brand out of the crowded marketplace but Mr Hopkins was correct that once the breakthrough has been made the hard part is to maintain the momentum gained from the humour.
Of course the meerkats used for promoting insurance have shown the correct way to achieve this.
What I want to share with you are a couple of more subtle uses of humour that I came across over the weekend, these will remain active in the long term and not suffer from over exposure. These make my day
