Increased Blog Feed Performance with FeedBurner
Posted by: | Comments
Is this what your subscribers are faced with then they want to hear more about your beautifully crafted blogs posts?
A long stream of unformatted, unattractive and disengaging code that will most likely make people regret they ever asked for your feed.
Of course if they are using an RSS reader, such as FeedDemon, then they will only see this page once but as we both know first impressions last and could be the one thing that makes them change their mind.
The Opportunity Within

As an aircraft engineer who has to go through human factors training every 2 years, I am constantly reminded of the dangers from focussing too closely on a task or problem. Human factors is important in any safety crucial industry and of course when you are at 30, 000ft you want to be confident that all the nuts, bolts and wires are in the right place!
However in any task no matter how important or mundane, the simplest of distractions from boss asking you when it will be ready to your partner tutting as you just post an update before you leave for dinner, can mean you lose your place, forget what comes next and ultimately either have to start again or miss the next step.
You may already be aware of the issue that this causes, if not then watch this video.
Marketing with Passion from the World Around You.

Have you ever struggled for inspiration for blog or email content, my friend Jo Barnes has just written a great post about this and perhaps this is a constant struggle for you, if so there is an easy solution and for once it is absolutely free because you have all the tools you need.
Creative inspiration is all around you if you would only take the time to stop and look at what passes you by however you must realise the dangers of procrastination.
Here is an example that will show you exactly what I mean.
My last room of residence was near to Downham Market, West Norfolk in the UK in which there was a much acclaimed fish and chip shop. They had many awards on their walls but none from the last couple of years…strange so what happened in the last 2 years, is the chip shop now rubbish?
Actually they are still good as fast foods outlets go but that last question raises a serious question that you should consider in your marketing and business profile.
Obsessive Marketing Passion Leads to Success

I knew my OCD would come in handy eventually.
One lesson I learned about time management ages ago was that you cannot implement any sort of strategy until you know yourself and how efficient or otherwise you are. This is why I now track everything I do, from blogging to sleeping, everything is tracked via an Android application called Time Recording Pro.
As I said if this sounds a little bit obsessive then if you have been following me on Facebook for any length of time, you will know that I have had to instigate an eat alarm as this is something that I all too often forget to do whilst I am in my zone and following my passions when it comes to marketing! This is a benefit of reducing your diets carbohydrate content, by reducing the severity of the sugar rush whilst you eat, you reduce blood sugar based hunger pangs. Of course when I do eventually eat, my stomach is like an angry women on the porch greeting her drunken spouse home.

Who Needs Who

With the anti-SOPA campaign gathering pace at last, I watched one video presentation about this that pretty much summed up the way America works,
They started by describing the ridiculous scope of this legislation which if you have not read reaches right done to gagging you from mentioning any media companies products that are released or planned!
The reasoning behind this is that if you are able to derive any form of commercial advantage from using this planned product, ie more traffic, then you have stolen this advantage from the copyright holder! Well a slap on the wrist and back to business is not really that bad, oh really, could you afford a $5million fine, 20 years in jail and of course extradition to the US?
That is by the way just for your first offence, the penalties ramp up for serial offenders which means you are going to have to channel your marketing passion very carefully if this legislation is passed.
Okay so you are not in the US, well before you light the cigar and sip your brandy, this legislation has you in its sights. They have specifically mentioned all the continents but they take that one step further and state that any country which does not play ball will have action taken against it!
Now returning to the video presentation, it ended by turning this concern on its head by stating that the legislation will never be passed as it is part of the US political establishments standard brinkmanship. This is used to reign in organisations that do their own thing without paying kickbacks to the political establishment.
Thus as the title suggests who needs who?
